What is a CSA?
What are the risks?
Why should I Join?
CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” It harkens back to a time when agriculture was a communal effort where the inherent risks of varied yield due to weather and predation is born by each member of the community as much as the optimal abundance of a hearty season is enjoyed by each member. As a shareholder of Rasa, as with any CSA, you may be asked to accept smaller portions when yields are low. The tradeoff is that, when yields are high, you will get to experience a broader assortment of ultra-fresh vegetables and herbs than what is available at the supermarket, and you know that these goods have not been shipped half way around the world. Your pre-season investment helps us to ensure quantity and quality, as well as allows us to build a relationship between you and your new farm!
By joining a CSA, you are joining a community of people who support local farmers, value sustainable practices, and cherish natural and organic foods. We at Rasa promise to use our best efforts to ensure crop success and diverse vegetable availability for our shareholder community. We further promise to manage predation and drought to the best of our abilities through sustainable practices. We look forward to having a relationship with you in 2010 and beyond.
Rasa is a Sanskrit word that means the “essence” or sometimes “divine nectar.”
We at Rasa Organics want you to experience the most essential vitality that natural foods can provide. We grow our harvest with care and joy so that you can enjoy.
